Mikis Waschl is Chief Digital Officer of Umdasch Group AG and one of the key drivers behind the group’s digital transformation agenda. In his role, he shapes and executes the global digital strategy across divisions, focusing on scalable platforms, data-driven decision-making, and the integration of digital capabilities into core business models.
With a strong background in civil engineering and over a decade of experience in real estate management, Mikis bridges the gap between the physical and digital worlds. Over the past years, he has led major initiatives to accelerate digital maturity, foster innovation at scale, and turn technology into measurable business value across international markets. Before joining Umdasch, Mikis developed a bootstrapped group of companies that digitized more than 20 million square meters of building space. He has led complex digitalization projects for landmark developments and public institutions, combining deep industry knowledge with entrepreneurial execution. Mikis is passionate about building digital organizations that are resilient, customer-centric, and future[1]ready.

Mikis has been an entrepreneur for over a decade. Founded, took over (family business) and developed several companies mostly around the topic of digital transformation (data/engineering , SaaS , BIM , consulting , research). Sold his companies in 2022. When he met the CEO and CFO of Umdasch Group, a world market leader in formwork, scaffolding and shopfitting, he postponed his interest in winemaking , and now serves as CDO of Umdasch Group, leading the digital transformation of the Austrian based 12.000 employee company.Mikis is Chair of IFMA’s Austrian Chapter.
