The role of the Service Operator in the enterprise cloud market
Over the last years we have seen a massive shift in the enterprise IT market from on-prem infrastructure to cloud services. However, experiences have been mixed. While the digital transformation empowers new business models and allows CIO to become agile, we also see huge failure rate of cloud migration projects. The challenge of dealing with old application designs, compliance and regulatory requirements yields complex operational processes that are not always easy to address with cloud infrastructure. New service offerings are required that complement the fast evolving technology offered by the cloud provider. System Integration and IT outsourcing models do not address the needs of CIO aiming to retire their data center anymore. At Avaloq we embarked on a journey that merges software development and system integration into a new cloud enabled service operator model for banks.
