Marc Besson

After having gained a master’s degree in information systems from Geneva University, Marc Besson started his career with Andersen in 1995 where he held various positions in the technology audit and consulting division. He then assumed the position of CIO and head of professional services for a startup specialized in security and digital identities. In 2008, he joined a leading Geneva private bank, where as CTO he headed the enterprise architecture team. Later on, Mr. Besson also served as chief security officer at the same bank, supervising physical and logical security from strategic and operational points of view.

In 2012, he joined Visilab as its CIO where he leads a team of 20+ employees dedicated to supporting a network of 90 shops across Switzerland. As a member of the executive committee, he ensures that the company strategy is properly served by a state-of-the-art information system. He also helps to strengthen the business through the introduction of key innovations and technologies.

Mr. Besson is a lecturer in various executive and master’s programs at the University of Applied Science of Western Switzerland and at the Geneva University. He is also a member of the Digital Circle Initiative, which aims to stimulate digital innovation in the French-speaking part of Switzerland.
