Ernest Altbart is currently the IT-architect and tech-lead for the implementation of a software-defined data center at Raiffeisen Informatik, an activity that includes MPLS core integrations and the implementation of a new data center fabric. He has been working in the service provider networking area for the last 25 years in a number of Austrian ISPs and led the network engineering effort at Raiffeisen Informatik up until 2014. He then switched to overall architecture engineering and focused on large scale projects in the data center infrastructure area. In his spare time he likes to practice his jazz-piano and drum skills, which he acquired and cultivated during six years of studying at the university of Vienna.
